Notes: Model D455, Vertical Steam Engine. Built approx. 2005. Like the Old Smokey Roller...this is another engaging engine made by Wilesco. Formally sold as the D45, it got the extra digit when another version came out in brass trim. It generates high RPM's and being a vertical design is a bit different when most of my collection as horizontal boilers. Like the Old Smokey, this Wilesco is fired with Esbit fuel tablets OR for a bit more umph, a denatured alcohol (meths) burner will make it really fly.

Notes: This D455 dates from 1990 and is in original steamed condition, the engine has been in the Wilesco range for over 30 years and is their best vertical boilered engine in my view.
