Notes: The Merit brand was another identity which belonged to J & L Randall who also owned and sold under the SEL brand. This 1540 dates from around the late 1940s, early 1950s. It is essentially a single cylinder version of the 1550 Major, and features displacement lubricator and twin wick burner. The engine is complete with box and funnel. It is shown with a Multum power saw dating from 1950s/60s - which were similar to SELs own tools
