Notes: This is the top of the range of Bowmans locos. The tender carries the number LNER 4472, which was the number carried by LNER's Flying Scotsman. The number is about the only similarity with the famous loco. When I bought this engine I was told it was from c1948, but I have since been told that the plain con rods date it much earlier.

An unrestored example of Bowman's largest loco, this one in red LMS livery. The plain connecting rods indicate that it is of relatively early manufacture. The sharp-eyed may notice a missing tender axle, this will be replaced in due course!
